CURRICULUM AND PERSONAL REFERENCES

Born in Lleida, he studied medicine at the University of Barcelona.
He received the Extraordinary Degree Award in 1993. He took his specialist ophthalmology course at the Hospital Sant Pau and took further studies for two years at the Hospital Princeps. He is a member of the Spanish Ophthalmology Society and of the Spanish Implant-Refractive Eye Surgery Society, apart from numerous other societies.  He was invited as a lecturer in ophthalmology, in the medical department, at the University of Lleida.
He is a specialist and pioneer in refractive surgery with excimer laser; cataract and presbyopia surgery (multifocal); intacs and cross-linking. He has been a consultant in the handling and teaching of the excimer laser since 1993.
 
Since the year 2000, he has been working in the field of intraocular multifocal lenses, forming part of the lens tecnis multifocal group. He has given lectures and courses at international (Algarve, 2006) and national (Elche 2005-2006, Saragossa 2005, Barcelona 2006, Benidorm 2007) congresses.
 
He was nominated as “professor” in the intacs technique in 2005. Specialist and pioneer in the cross-linking technique. He combines his care work with his directorship of the Tres Torres Ophthalmological Institute
